Sarah and Adam’s Evergreen Lodge wedding took place just outside Yosemite National Park. It’s a rustic, cabin-and-forest property near Groveland. Their wedding day moved from quiet cabin mornings to a forest ceremony to a reception strung with lights beneath the pines.

Getting Ready in the Cabins

First, the morning started slow. Rings, a bouquet of blush and cream roses, and an invitation suite were laid out on a wood-plank table. Sarah’s mother helped lace her into her gown inside one of the lodge’s cabins. Down the hall, Adam and his groomsmen knotted ties. They traded a few nervous laughs before heading out to the deck.

A Ceremony Under the Pines

A hand-lettered sign nailed to a pine tree welcomed guests to the ceremony site. A sheer-draped wooden arbor stood in a sunlit forest clearing. Sarah and Adam exchanged vows there, surrounded by guests seated on either side of a petal-strewn aisle. Their first kiss, right under the arbor, closed out the ceremony.

Portraits at Evergreen Lodge

Afterward, the wedding party gathered for portraits backlit by the afternoon sun. Then Sarah and Adam slipped away for a long, quiet portrait session of their own. They walked through a sunlit wildflower meadow ringed by towering pines, pausing for close, unhurried moments together. It’s some of the most romantic light of the whole day.

A Rustic Reception at Evergreen Lodge

Also, the reception carried the same handmade, woodsy feel. Mugs spelling out “LOVE” were filled with roses, and a hand-lettered menu leaned on an easel nearby. A table number was carved into a log slice, and a dessert table stood under a “Sweet Love” banner.

Dancing Under the String Lights

As the sun went down, string lights lit up the trees for Sarah and Adam’s first dance. Afterward, toasts followed. Then the whole party — guests of every age — filled the dance floor until late. The night ended the way the day began: just the two of them. This time, it was under a “This Love Is Ours” banner, with a handwritten thank-you sign.

Getting Married at Evergreen Lodge?

Evergreen Lodge is one of the most distinctive wedding venues near Yosemite. In fact, it was a treat to photograph a full day there, from the cabins to the meadow to the string-lit reception. If you’re planning an Evergreen Lodge wedding, I’d love to talk with you about photographing it. You can get in touch here, or read more about the venue on Evergreen Lodge’s own site.
